While the African Drums are not new to Disneyland (they used to play in the Adventureland part of the park), they have been re-located to other locations. Guest that are watching the new parade will see them on the Lion King – Jungle Book float as they can’t be missed being well visible placed on both sides of the float.
The other new spot they entertain the audience is before the Lion King Show. They are now part of the pre-show, replacing the audience captures on the screen. They have the opportunity to warm the public up before the Lion King show, putting them on the right spot to show off their musical show. Not only will there be more people watching their show, they now have the chance to play on a stage in front of a big crowd as many guest might not have stopped to watch them in Adventureland while they used to play there.
Little additions like this make a big difference to the magic. Their music and funny interaction was applauded by the whole public and made the wait for the main show fly by.
The African Drums will play on select days only, but no program regarding the dates is being allocated to the public.
