Over the course of the last nights the 15th anniversary decorations have started to appear on Sleeping Beauty Castle. The weather fanes on top of several of the castle's turrets have been replaced with massive, golden statues of some of the most beloved classic Disney characters, each holding a birthday candle. by the time the celebration starts 15 candles are supposed to be featured on the castle so 15 statues (some of them featuring more than one character) will be adorning the castle structure. As of yesterday 8 statues with 8 candles had been installed - each one hoisted up in the night by crane and put in place by hand. Featured so far are:
DUMBO (holding the candle in his trunk) on the small turret just below the highest spike of the castle, wearing a blue colored collar;
PINOCCHIO (before turning into a real boy) balancing on his left leg, Figaro perche don his head and holding the canlde in his left hand - currently on the second highest turret that is adorned by a statue, on the left side of the highest spike of the castle;
PLUTO further down also on the left half of the castle, balancing the candle on his left front paw;
GOOFY who stands out from the other characters not only because his trousers are having a slight metallic blue color (just as his arms and legs, were expsoded, are of a slightly darker color), but also because he actually stands on a lower balcony on the left side of the castle and leans out and down to put the candle on the top of a small turret below the balcony;
DAISY on top of the left tower next to the main gate leading into the castle, frozen in an elegant dance(?) move;
DONALD on the opposite tower on the same hight, on the other side of the main gate, frozen in a similar move complimenting Daisy;
CHIP'n'DALE further out to the right, on a turret only slightly higher than Donald's, standing on each others shoulders so taht they are able to present their candle higher;
and finally (so far): 
JIMMINY CRICKET on one of the higher turrets (but by far not as high as Dumbo) proudly presenting his candle, but not wearing his star he was awarded by the Blue Fairy at the end of the animated classic "Pinocchio".
So 7 more characters are still to premiere over the course of the next nights...
Each of the characters (with the exception of Goofy) stands or sits on top of a small golden crown with the 15th anniversary logo on it, which functions as a base to support the statue and also hide further technical equipment including the wiring. The wiring? Yes! A close look at the candles as seen in the photographs reveals that the flame found on top of the candle is not made out of the massive, golden material but a translucent, glass-like material with a golden hue through which the light shimmers. Since according to the official information during the nightly Candleabration Ceremony the castle will be illuminated by candles it can be expected that those flames will actually light up. To support this effect most of the spiked roofs of the round turrets of the castles have been covered with small lights as used also during the Christmas Season to add a sparkling light effect to the castle. Also note the golden spiral that already twoirls around the top of the highest turret.
