No need to fear - DLP.info hasn't joined the arsonists. The Disneyland Resort Paris is still standing safe and unburned. We are referring to one of the many details that are returning in the wake of the resort's upcoming 15th anniversary. Examples?
Shortly after Halloween last year the the three flying fairies from Sleeping Beauty Castle returned to their place over the magical cauldron in the their sweet store at the castle courtyard after years in which they had been missed. Then, just days ago, the sign at the entrance of Discoveryland started turning again ( as already reported). Now the gateway leading from Fantasyland to Adventureland in front of Au Chalet de la Marionnette was finally finished (while the facade on the other side of the gateway was finished last year, this side remained under tarps for months without any work taking place). Or what about the Main Street, U.S.A.? Just recently the flag of the United States of America finally returned to the tops of numerous buildings - just as in the old days. And Imagineering even made sure, that the correct flag was chosen: the one displaying only 45 instead of the current 50 stars since at the turn of the 20th century only 45 states where part of the USA. The according flag was used from July 4, 1896 until July 3, 1908, when the number of stars was increased to 46 to honor the acsession of Oklahoma.
But back to the title line of this news: one of the other small details that has been returned recently is the theatrical use of real, live fire to illuminate parts of Adventureland and set the atmosphere. While the torches next to the main entrance from the hub frequently worked over the years at least during high season, nearly all of the torches inside Adventureland had ceased bruning long ago. Until the preparations for the 15th anniversary changed it all.
