As the world premiere of the third movie inspired by the attraction "Pirates of the Caribbean" draws closer and closer the suspense regarding the update of the attraction at Disneyland Paris is growing as well. While there are numerous reports online about the new movie (just check out e.g. our Mousekingdom Blog) it seems that Imagineering managed to keep the secrets hidden as far as the upgrade of DLRP's Pirates of the Caribbean ride is confirmed. No further details have emerged since "envie+", the resort's official annual passport magazine, confirmed the changes to premiere in May. Now additional reports are coming in from guests who notice small changes (similar to those covered in our first report) which could indicate some of the changes to come for the attraction:
Word is out that the lady hidden away in the barrel (in the bend before the fencing Audioanimatronics) stopped peaking out at the guests and the drunken Pirate sitting in front of "her" barrel about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Instead the barrel stays shut. This could indicate that she has been replaced with a Jack Sparrow Audioanimatronic, as in the two US-versions of the attraction. Also observant guests report that they have the impression, that the space has been cleared up on the right side of the canal behind the small sailing boat, right after the scene in which the mayor gets dunked into the well. Might this indicate another location in which a Jack Sparrow Audioanimatronic could be added??
Most probably we will only learn at the end of the month, when the third movie premieres and hopefully the new upgrade goes live. Strangely the resort hasn't communicated this to anyone but AP-holders so far...
